During a portrait shoot of John Donaldson, Professor of Applied Mathematics, Ingrid Bugge was introduced to the enigmas of mathematics.
Embedded in our world lies oceans of beautiful patterns and mathematic-geometrical connections, that we
humans recognize as beautiful and which the mathematician can describe in formulas.
Usually we do not consider, that in the objects of nature – for instance in a conch or in an egg – lie pure and mathematical formulas.
However, does one dive into the world of phenomena and chances mathematical relations will appear everywhere and often there is order in what seems to be chaos.
