Stagn/ID is the result of an art photography collaboration with actress Charlotte Munck. The project is an investigation of mental states. Specifically, the way our psychological state affects our physical appearance. And how we make a first impression using our intuition when we meet new people.
“Charlotte Munck and I meet in a conversation about life, in wonder and enthusiasm expressed through the image, the word and the body. We work as an artist duo. In ID degrees and Stagn examines the face and the soul through art.” – Ingrid Bugge
The word ‘stagn’ refers to mental stagnation. Mould, fungus and dust are spreading in the face as a metaphor for inner stagnation and spiritual degradation. Also, the art project investigates how the individual can stagnate due to isolation and lack of creative and social interaction. The art works also reflects how our perspective on life can have a negative impact on our mental state.
ID˚ is the result of an art photography collaboration with actress Charlotte Munck. The project is an investigation of different mental states and the way our psyche affects our physical appearance. When we meet a new person, we form a first impression within 30 seconds. Even after a long relationship it is difficult to alter this impression. ID˚ is an investigation of how we read and decode the faces of fellow human beings. And where even small changes in a face can change the entire appearance of a person.
